SMS questions
How many characters fit in one SMS?
A plain GSM-7 message fits 160 characters in one SMS. Longer messages are split into parts of 153 characters each. Unicode messages, used for Hindi and other scripts, fit 70 characters in one SMS or 67 per part.
How are SMS credits counted?
Each SMS part uses one credit per recipient, so a two-part message to 500 contacts uses 1,000 credits. The composer shows the number of parts as you type, before you send.
Can I send messages in Hindi and other languages?
Yes. Kwital sends Unicode messages, so Hindi and other scripts arrive correctly. Keep in mind that Unicode parts hold fewer characters.
Which SMS providers can I connect?
MSG91, Twilio, Vonage (Nexmo), Infobip, MessageBird, Clickatell, Textmagic, SMS Broadcast, MiMSMS and Ajura SMS are built in. You can also describe any HTTP SMS API as a custom gateway.
Can I use my Android phones and an SMS provider together?
Yes. When you send a message or build a campaign, you choose the sending method: an Android gateway and SIM, or an API gateway.
