FAQ

Questions about contacts

Which file types can I import?

CSV and Excel files. After the upload you match each column to a contact field, turn it into a new custom attribute, or skip it. A demo CSV on the import screen shows the expected layout.

What if my spreadsheet has no header row?

Switch on the header option while you match columns and the first row is imported as a contact as well.

Do I have to wait while a large file imports?

No. Imports run in the background while you carry on working, and each group shows its import progress and recent imports.

How do unsubscribes work?

People who click the unsubscribe link in your emails are added to the list automatically, and you can add anyone by hand for SMS, email or WhatsApp. Contacts on the list are skipped on that channel by every campaign and single send. You can re-subscribe someone or export the list to CSV at any time.

Can I use my own fields in messages?

Yes. Custom attributes can be text, number, date or yes/no. Insert them into a message with placeholders such as {{city}}, or use them to filter a group when you send SMS, email or WhatsApp.

Can I export my contacts?

Yes. Download all your contacts, or a single group, as a CSV file whenever you need them.
